How to Reach New Maas

Accessibility

New Maas will be located on the Oude IJsselmondsehoofd along the Oostdijk in Oud-IJsselmonde, Rotterdam, on the southern bank of the Nieuwe Maas river. The immediate surroundings include the charming village-like neighborhood of Oud-IJsselmonde – a village within the city – the green Eiland van Brienenoord, and the Van Brienenoord Bridge. De Kuip stadium is also just around the corner. All urban amenities are within close reach. From here, you can reach the city center in 15 to 20 minutes by public transport, car, or bicycle.

New Maas is conveniently located near exit S106, and the city and surrounding areas are easily accessible via the A16, A15, and A20 motorways. Not only is the city within easy reach, but also nearby towns such as Ridderkerk, Barendrecht, and Capelle aan den IJssel.

By Car
New Maas is easily accessible by car. The exit from the A16 motorway is just a 3-minute drive away. From there, all major highways can be reached quickly. Want to drive to the city center? In about 15 minutes, you can cross Zuid and enter the city via the Erasmus Bridge.

Public Transport
The water taxi stops right at your doorstep at the Oud IJsselmonde stop (No. 16) and takes you anywhere in the city for just a few euros. For example, you can reach Rotterdam Central Station in 25 minutes, 16 of which are on the water taxi. The distinctive yellow-and-black taxis can be booked at www.watertaxirotterdam.nl.

The bus stop on the Oostdijk, directly in front of the building, takes you across the Van Brienenoord Bridge to Kralingse Zoom in just 11 minutes. Kralingse Zoom is the main public transport hub on the east side of Rotterdam, with excellent bus and metro connections to the entire city and surrounding areas.

From New Maas, it’s a 15-minute walk to the Dwarsdijk tram stop. From there, it’s a 17-minute tram ride to the city center (Beurs stop).

By Bicycle
By bike, you can reach local shops within 10 minutes, including the Keizerswaard shopping center with an Albert Heijn, Jumbo supermarket, HEMA, drugstore, and various specialty shops such as a butcher, bakery, liquor store, barbershop, and cheese and nut store. De Kuip stadium is also just a few minutes away by bike. Want to cycle further? Cross the bridge and you’ll be at Erasmus University in 15 minutes, or on the vibrant Witte de Withstraat in about 20 minutes via Zuid.

Immediate Surroundings

The immediate surroundings of New Maas include the marina and the quaint village of Oud-IJsselmonde. Between Waterside II and New Maas — and surrounding the building itself — a beautiful new park garden will be created. It will feature elegant concrete seating edges, plantings with ornamental grasses, and park trees of varying sizes. This will result in a lush, green promenade along the water, perfect for walking and relaxing.
